After obtaining his graduation and post-graduation in Psychology from the University of Kerala in 1976 and 1978 respectively, Shri. Rajan Mathai had his M. Phil. in Medical and Social Psychology from NIMHANS, Bangalore. A senior Hospital Administrator in Ghana and an Assistant Research Officer of the Indian Council of Medical Research at NIMHANS he has been working as a Clinical Psychologist since 1984 at the Kusumagiri Mental Health Centre at Kakkanad. A fellow of the Indian Association of Clinical Psychologists and a Life Associate Member of Indian Psychiatric Society, he was the President of the Indian Association of Clinical Psychologists (South Zone).
