A B.Sc. graduate of M.G. University, he had his LL.B. and LL.M. from the Cochin University of Science and Technology. A recipient of Dr. V. Kesavankutty Memorial Gold Medal and Prof. R.V. Kelkar Memorial Prize, Shri. Jacob received the Best Participant Award at the Third South Asian Teaching Session on International Humanitarian Law and Refugee Law organized jointly by the U.N.H.C.R., I.C.R.C. and NLSIU, Bangalore in 2001. He has taught at the West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata. He is currently pursuing his doctoral studies at the Cochin University of Science and Technology. He has to his credit publications in reputed national journals and has participated in international and national seminars. He has coauthored a book titled “Cases and Materials on Legal Method” with Professor K.N. Chandrasekharan Pillai, Director, I.L.I., New Delhi. His areas of interest include Human Rights, Comparative Criminal Procedure, Environmental Law, Media and Telecommunication Laws.
