ACTIVITIES - Moot Court - Competition

The Surana & Surana National Trial Advocacy Competition is organised annually by the National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS) in association with Surana & Surana International Attorneys, Chennai with the object to promote the skills of trial advocacy among the students of law. Unlike traditional moot court competitions, the trial advocacy competition is conducted in the setting of a trial court scenario. The skills of the students in the examination of witnesses and argumentation are assessed during the oral rounds.

The Competition is ordinarily held in August/September. Updates on the Competition will be posted at www.nuals.ac.in and www.mootsite.com (website of the joint organiser)

The India South Rounds of the Sixth Edition of the Surana & Surana National Trial Advocacy Competition was held at the NUALS Campus, Kaloor from 24 – 26 September 2010. The details of the prize winners are given below:

Second Best Student Advocate: Mr. Rohit Rathi of ILS Law College, Pune & Ms. Anjali R. of School of Excellence in Law, Chennai.
Third Best Student Advocate: Ms. Nupama Shankar Arahunashi of Bishop Cotton Women’s Christian Law College, Bangalore.
Fourth Best Student Advocate: Mr. Abhinav Srivastava, Bharathi Vidyapeeth University, Pune.
Best Speaker of Finals: Mr. Rohit Rathi of ILS Law College, Pune.
