The National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS) was established by Act 27 of 2005 of the Kerala State Legislature
The moot court activities of the University are co-ordinated by the NUALS Moot Court Society. The main object of the Society is to advance and disseminate learning and knowledge of legal skills including skills relating to advocacy, negotiation, client counselling and research. The object is achieved inter alia by encouraging the participation of students in national and international moot court and client counselling competitions. The activities of the NUALS Moot Court Society are presently managed by a committee consisting of the following members under the patronage, guidance and supervision of the authorities of the University.
