The National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS) was established by Act 27 of 2005 of the Kerala State Legislature

CENTRES- Centre for Law and Economics


Centre for Law and Economics (CLE) is established to develop research and educational programmes in the areas of educational programmes facilitating an economic analysis of law. The Centre's mission is to create awareness among the public at large about this nascent field of study, which can play a crucial role in making the Indian Legal System more efficient. The goal of the Centre is to produce knowledge on regulatory action that would be useful for academic community, government, corporations and society.

CLE was inaugurated by T.P. Srinivasan, Vice-Chairman and executive head, Kerala State Higher Education Council and Former Ambassador and Permanent representative of India to the United Nations on 6th August 2015 at NUALS Campus, Ernakulam in the presence of Prof. (Dr.) Rose Varghese, Vice-Chancellor, NUALS and other eminent personalities like Adv. Sunil Badekar, Advocate Supreme Court of India;Prof.(Dr.) M.C.Valson, Director, Centre for Environment and Law at NUALS;Dr.V.S.Sebastian, Member Executive Council, NUALS etc.
