ACHIEVEMENTS IN MOOT COURT COMPETITIONS

Winning of Scholarships

Rhodes Scholarship - Mary Kavita Dominic, a final year undergraduate student of the University has been awarded the Rhodes Scholarship for 2017. She will now read for the Bachelor of Civil law (BCL) degree at the University of Oxford. Established in 1903, the Rhodes Scholarship is one of the most prestigious international scholarship programmes in the world. It aims to nurture public-spirited leaders for the world's future. Each year, there are five Scholarships available for India to enable outstanding students - chosen on the basis of exceptional intellect, character, leadership, and commitment to service - to study at the University of Oxford. The University would like to congratulate her on this achievement and wishes her all the very best in her pursuit of legal education.

NUALS team consisting of Ms. J. Mandakini (X Semester) (Speaker), Ms. Reshma Sekhar (X Semester) (Speaker) and Ms. Kavya Pankaj (X Semester) (Researcher) has won the 5th NLIU - Justice R.K. Tankha Memorial National Moot Court Competition which was held at the National Law Institute University (NLIU), Bhopal from February 20 -22, 2015.

NUALS team consisting of Mr. Abhijith B. (X Semester) (Speaker), Ms. Soujanya G.L. (VI Semester) (Speaker), Ms. Aditi Agarwal (VI Semester) (Researcher), Ms. Sindhu Sambrani (VI Semester) (Researcher) has been adjudged as the Runner-up team at the UPES National Trial Advocacy Competition 2015. The competition was held at the School of Legal Studies, University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) Dehradun from February 18 - 21, 2015.

NUALS team consisting of Mr. Navaneeth Krishan ( Speaker) (X Semester), Ms. Drishya J. Moses (Speaker) (VI Semester) and Ms. Varada B. (Researcher) (VI Semester) has won the Dr. Annasaheb G.D. Bendale Memorial 10th National Moot Court Competition which was held at the S.S. Maniyar Law College, Jalgaon, Maharashtra on 14th & 15th February 2015.

A team which represented the National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS) at the National Trial Advocacy and Moot Court Competition 2014 was adjudged as the Second Best Team of the Competition. Mr. Jeevan Rajeev, Ms. Reshma Suresh & Ms. Harima Hariharan were the members of the NUALS Team. Have won The Trophies instituted by Prof.Ramakrishnan Trophy, Adv.Vadakkot Bhaskara Menon Memmorial Trophy, & A.M Yousuf Trophy. The Competition was organised by Govt. Law College, Thrissur, from 26th to 28th September 2014.

Ms. Mary Kavita Dominic won the 'Best Counsel Prize' at the 4th Amity International Moot Court Competition 2014. The Competition was held at the Amity Law School, Noida from 8th to 10th October 2014.

A team representing the NUALS comprising of Ms. Athisya Kumar, Ms. Namrata Keshava and Mr. Reddy Pawan Kumar has won the IMS Unison University 2nd National Moot Court Competition 2014 . The Competition was held at School of law, IMS Unison University, Dehradun from 10th to 11th October 2014.

A team which represented the National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS) at the India National Funding Rounds of the Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot Court Competition was adjudged as the Runner-up Team of the Competition. Mr. Shreyas Bhushan, Ms. Angha Lakshmy Raman & Ms. Lakshmi Menon were the members of the NUALS Team. Mr. Shreyas Bhushan was also adjudged as the Best Speaker of the Competition. The India National Funding Rounds was organised by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and it was held at the National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore from 25th to 27th April 2014.

A team representing the National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS), Kochi comprising of Mr. Mohammad Kamran, Mr. Bhargav N. Rao and Mr. Apoorv Jain won the Best Memorial Prize at the 1st National Law University Odisha Maritime Law Moot Court Competition 2014 which was held at National Law University, Odisha from 21st to 23rd March 2014.

A team representing the National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS) comprising of Ms. Rajashree R., Ms. Swarathmika S. Kumar and Ms. Neethu Roy have won the Best Memorial Prize at the 5th Antitrust Law Moot Court Competition held at National Law University (NLU), Jodhpur from 7th to 9th March 2014.

A team representing the National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS) comprising of Ms. Sherin Susy Paul, Ms. Meenakshi Menon and Ms. Mandakini J. have won the Runners-up Prize at the XVIII All India Moot Court Competition organised by the University Law College, Bangalore on 21st, 22nd & 23rd February 2014.

A team representing the National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS) comprising of Ms. Abhinaya M.V., Ms. Aparna Asokan and Ms. Kavya Pankaj have won the Runners-up Prize at the 9th All India Human Rights Moot Court Competition organised by the School of India Legal Thought, Kottayam on 20th, 21st & 22nd February 2014. The team also won the Second Best Memorial Prize at the Competition.

A team representing the National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS) comprising of Mr. Allen E. Baiju, Ms. Janaki Krishnan and Ms. Arya Devi have won the Second Best Memorial Prize at 2nd National Trial Moot Court Competition 2014 organised by the Government Law College, Thrissur on 14th to 16th February 2014.

A team representing the National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS) comprising of Mr. Jithin Saji Isaac, Ms. Reshma Sekhar and Mr. Dushyant Tiwari received a Special Mention for Overall Performance at the 6th GNLU International Moot Court Competition 2014 organised by the Gujarat National law University (GNLU), Ahmedabad from 5th - 9th February 2013.

The NUALS team which won the overall Championship at the Artha2014, Fest conducted by the Madras Christian College, Chennai on 23rd & 24th January.

The members of the NUALS team who were adjudged the overall champion in the Inter-Collegiate Cultural Fest, 'Ascensio 2014', held in connection with the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the All Saints' College, Trivandrum, on 17th and 18th of January, 2014.

A team representing the National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS), Kochi, Kerala comprising of : Ms. Soujanya G.L. (Speaker) (3rd Semester); Ms. Swetha V. (Speaker) (3rd Semester); Ms. Aditi Agarwal (Researcher) (3rd Semester); Ms. Sindhu Sambrani (Researcher) (3rd Semester) has won the NYAYAVALOKAN, 2013 - 4th National Trial Advocacy and Judgment Writing Competition held at the SVKM's Pravin Gandhi College of Law, Mumbai from 4 - 6 October 2013. Ms. Krishna K. was selected as the Second Best Researcher at 5th All India Moot Court Competition for Justice T. Ramachandran Memorial Ever Rolling Trophy organized by the Government Law College, Thrissur. The Competition was held at Thrissur from 29-31 January 2010.
